All Karakter gins are handmade,
distilled from exclusively natural ingredients
and enriched with pure spring water.
We are aware of the importance of freshness and authenticity of botanicals, which is why we strive to handpick the ones that grow naturally in the surrounding mountains and forests of Slovenia.

has awarded Karakter's IMAGINE dry gin with a bronze medal
in the most numerous category - New Western style gin.
IMAGINE DRY GIN
Non-classic London dry gin* from 23 different natural aromas and a pinch of Slovenian wildflowers.
*All herbs are added in the distillation process
BOTANICALS: Juniper, coriander, iris root, citrus peel, black and red currant, mountain pine, thyme, rose flowers, kaffir lime leaves...
AROMA: Fruity and fresh, complex and herbal, calm juniper aroma, with an earthy finish.
FLAVOR: Pleasant, balanced, herbal and slightly spicy, with a long fruity and slightly sweet finish.
HANDMADE SMALL-BATCH GIN
At Karakter Distillery we use three techniques for distilling gin:
maceration, distillation with herbs and percolation, which allow us to extract and preserve maximum aroma and flavors during the process.
Karakter gin differs from the rest in another key component.
In order to achieve higher quality of the spirits,
we produce only 70 bottles per batch.
THE CHERRIOT GIN
Wild cherry and hibiscus infused gin. Made from 17 different natural aromatics and without added sugar.
BOTANICALS: Juniper, coriander, anglica, citrus peels, raspberries, beetroots, almonds, dried pears, hibiscus, wild cherry berries
AROMA: Fruity and delicate, caramel like with a slightly earthy finish.
TASTE: Extremely fruity (candy like) and pleasantly light. We detect earthy tones, soft nutty flavor (almonds), slightly sour (hibiscus) and unmistakable, long lasting intense wild cherry flavor.
ABOUT KARAKTER DISTILLERY
Karakter distillery, the only "official" distillery in Bohinj,
was founded in 2016 by three indigenous people from Bohinj,
friends since childhood.
Today, in addition to the distillation of gin and other craft spirits,
we organize live music events at our bar next to Lake Bohinj
and help develop the culinary scene in Slovenia.
